3 days ago, a truck came and black shadows casted upon the pavements opposite my block. Bangla workers got off, together with their metal ware. Under the hot sun, and absorbing the most of the UV rays (haha, black absorbs heat), the pasar malam tent was beginning to be formed...
NOW.
The blasting of mando-pop songs, soft aroma of popcorn and cotton candy, loud chatter of the crowd, the even STRONGER scent of the newly added 'smelly tofu', and there it is. The homegrown Made In Singapore Pasar Malam. In short 'MISPM'.
The typical MISPM makes their rounds all over the island's neighbourhoods. Bishan, Serangoon, Hougang, Bedok... And each stop would be for a week or so. But seriously, ONE week is already too long for a pasar malam. How long does it take for you to walk down a stretch of pathetic stores that sell regular, morbid items?! There's no novelty in the MISPM anymore!!
Well... There's the typical sellers, fruit peddlers, Ramly burgers, chinese sausages and blah, popcorn and candy floss pushcart, and the new addition being the 'smelly tofu' store. Followed by the TYPICAL accessory and clothes seller, lower-priced and FAKE shirts, FAKE watches, FAKE belts and all the rest of the UN-genuine stuff that follows. Notice that i used the word lower-priced, cause the price is still not attractive enough for people like me to buy pasar malam boxers which i hope cost 3 pairs for a dollar. For such low-quality stuffs, unless it's dirt-cheap, who'd bother? haha. I think i'm being a little picky and mean here. haha.
And there's the kiddy rides. There's a little car track (if that's what it's being called) and this helicopter like mechanism which so called swings these 4 cabins (with the child in it) round and round. Hmm. Apparently these kiddy rides are so kiddy i bet the child can move even faster than them. The 'car' on the car track moves so freaking slow. I bet it reads 5km per hour on the speedometer. For the parent who think your child would be happy sitting on the ride for a second time, your child can walk, crawl or even roll FASTER than the ride. Give them a TAMIYA car instead, at least it moves a HELL lot faster! And the helicopter ride that swings you around (or whatever it's called), has only 4 cabins. GOSH! 4 children at one go, do nothing but sit there and get spun around. And the worse thing is... it moves so slow i bet they'd rather turn in circles to get 'high' and giddy instead.
Well. Not all is bad about MISPM, despite the strong smells, hot+humid+oily atmosphere, limited items, there's still some joy from the haggling experience that you can obtain from there. Where else on this everything-is-fixed-price-island can you haggle other than the MISPM? haha. This reminds me, Singapore should have shops similar to those in neopets, where you can haggle obsessively for the products (like what i do in the past when playing neopets), and get chased out of the virtual shop! haha. ahh~ i miss those days.

Sms-es should be replied. If you do not want to continue sms-ing, please say so. Don't make him wait for so long, and be worried all over. And you forgot to check your phone, at least give him an sms when you see it the next morning isnt it?
