the repercussions of trauma i felt, of an A' level student.
Was out with steph and denise on thursday, the day before the release of the results. Well, we intended to go cycling, but we ended up lazing around at ECP and Siglap cause of the rain. The weather sucks pretty bad during this time of the year, and i dont think it's helping that both of them are pretty worried about their results.
But anyway, i thought it was nice to just talk. But on our way back, it rained bad. It rained so bad that denise and i did like the most embarrassing thing ever. In order to cross a road, we picked up a cardboard (you know those big pieces that gets dumped after someone buys a TV), unfolded it, and used it to shield ourselves from the rain. And it was flimsy. I promise to bring an umbrella wherever i go for the next 10 weeks.
And today... well, i witnessed a whole range of emotions at TJC. as well as a wide spectrum of characteristics. Example: army boy with parents who look satisfied. girl jumping around upon realization that she did well. boy with baseball cap trying to look cool. girl in boots trying to make a fashion statement. girl who goes around asking for other people's grades. boy who looks sad and stands at a corner, and many others.. hah!
You study hard, go through hell and high water, insufficient sleep, endless revision and work in 2 years. For one good grade that ensures you a place in uni.
Sometimes i feel that it's a pity that people dont do well, and end up in courses they dislike. Start out a career which they find a bore, and never find joy in work. Well, but you may say that the opposite is too idealistic, do a course you like, find a career you like, and be happy working, bullshit. haha!
on a side note itself, sometimes i think dreams are really a good reflection of what one is thinking. the more you try to deny it, it feels even more real.
