clarke quay + fish&co.

For those who don't know where this is, it's clarke quay. Home to the GMAX, Ministry of Sound, Kandi Bar by Hed Kandi, the few novelty restaurants like Clinic, HOOTERS, many other clubs and new shopping mall CENTRAL! wootz.

Central has late night shopping this lovely night, but apparently i didnt have enough disposable cash on me, so i wasnt really in the go-all-out-for-shopping mood. Anyway, i'm going to get my suit and shoes (which might cost me $200++), so i guess the other things can wait. There're the restaurants with balconies overlooking Singapore River. What a sight to behold if you're lucky enough to get a seat there! But apparently, there's a LONG LONG queue, so cy and i didnt really want to wait. And since today they're having late night shopping, there were these few people dressed as figurines and on stilts walking around, attracting attention, posing for photos with the customers and giving away brochures. A pity i didnt get a photo of them. AwwWWww.. And there was a booth promoting laptops.. And with a photo in a photo, i managed to get a rather interesting photo.
After shopping, walking, browsing and moving around each and every shop in CENTRAL... we went outside. OH YA, before i forget about it all, i took a photo of the toilet. The design is so stylish. *looks below*After the toilet episode... there's the LONG escalator. Escalators that go from the 3rd to the 5th floor. But apparently all that's available on the 5th floor is just the.... CARPARK! As if i own a convertible to be parked and stationed at the carpark. haha. *wei rong should stop dreaming*

Now now.. isnt that LONG. Imagine if someone would accidentally miss a step and roll all the way down. *ouch!*

Hand-in-hand, cy and i made our way outside to the river bank. AND we saw GMAX, so freaking expensive can. $30 a person for about a minute of thrill. This is not cheap thrill, it's a RIP-OFF thrill! Sitting at the river bank, it can never be comparable to Venice, but at least there's still water. haha. *wei rong should stop dreaming* And we took a couple of photos (to my delight).

And then we pranced around clarke quay and all of its restuarants and clubs. Then there was the Turkish Ice Cream seller! haha.. He's really interesting though, with all his antics. It's so much fun watching him playing with his customers.. haha! That's really service that everyone should look out for.

Warm and approachable attitude, humourous = service that brings a smile to everyone's face.

Well... we walked back to CENTRAL and wanted to settle our dinner there, but there was a LONG queue as usual, even more on FRIDAY NIGHTS! So... we went over to Dhoby Ghaut hoping that Fish&Co. would have lesser people and we'd get our food very soon. But apparently it wasnt the case there, and we kind of waited for 20 minutes or so.

At least the food was good, and in portions so big i couldnt even finish. The sauce that came with the sword fish collar was like NICEEEE!! Though it was coupled with a tangy spicy flavour. The fries were nice though, but it came with some stuff like boiled carrots and mushrooms, which apparently werent really nice tasting. haha. But the bartenders looked cool, playing around with vodka, martini, gin... I want to learn bartending in the future.

And to digress a bit, the toilet in Fish&Co. has a really nice aroma (or should i say smell). haha. Apparently the toilet wasnt of some 7star standard. But at least the sinks were clean and decorated. haha! After dinner, a short walk around istana park. haha. Istana park is just great. Tranquil. Peace. Quiet. Then it's back to urban life of taking the train back. Noise. And the usual things done on the platform. Which is to... take photos reflected from the panel resulting in blurred photos that look good as long as you're wearing something presentable. haha.

Happiness resides not in possessions and not in gold, the feeling of happiness dwells in the soul.

And lastly, random photo of the day.
